The Drake Cold Plunge takes its name from the Drake Passage, the legendary stretch of ocean between South America and Antarctica. Known for some of the most violent seas on the planet, it has tested the limits of explorers for centuries. This cold plunge is rooted in that spirit. It was born from an expedition to Antarctica where the family behind SISU completed the inaugural ultramarathon on the continent and plunged into the subzero waters.

That life-altering moment of clarity, grit, and transformation became the blueprint for The Drake. The name also honors the legacy of Ernest Shackleton and the crew of the Endurance, who crossed the Drake Passage in a desperate bid for survival that lasted over two years. Their story is one of unmatched resilience, exactly what The Drake stands for. Every cold plunge is a test. A reset. A return to something primal.
