Assembly & Support

• Confirm the pathway is clear (gates, doors, stairwells) for moving panels or the kit from your delivery location to your saunas site

• Have the base fully finished and level.

• Make sure electrical work is complete or scheduled.

• Plan for ventilation and moisture management (especially indoors) with fans, drains, or nearby windows as recommended in the installation guide.
  
  

• Most saunas need a level, stable, and well-drained surface—like compacted gravel, pavers, a deck, or a concrete pad. Avoid bare soil or grass.

• Indoor saunas should go on solid flooring that can handle heat and moisture (not carpet or untreated wood).

Plan for at minimum 12–18 inches of clearance on the sides and back for airflow and maintenance, and 3–4 feet of clear space in front for entering/exiting. Please refer to your specific sauna guide.

Our saunas are designed as a DIY-friendly kit for two-three people with basic tools and skills.

Most customers can complete assembly in 4–8 hours, depending on basic carpentry experience and your sauna selection. If you’re not comfortable with construction or don’t have help lifting/aligning staves, you may want to hire a handyman or contractor—and always use a licensed electrician for electrical hookups.

• For regular home use, a light cleaning once a week is usually enough:

• Brush or vacuum out dirt and debris

• Wipe benches and backrests with a damp cloth (water + a tiny bit of mild soap if needed)

• Leave the door open for 10–15 minutes after use to dry things out

• Avoid harsh chemicals–they can damage the wood and leave smells that come out when heated.

• Inside: Generally, no sealant or varnish should be used inside. The wood needs to “breathe” and withstand repeated heating and cooling. If you want extra protection, use a sauna-safe paraffin oil on benches and backrests only.

• Outside: You can use an exterior oil or stain to help protect the exterior from UV, rain, and snow. Follow manufacturer instructions and reapply as needed (often every 1–2 years, depending on climate).
  

Your sauna will typically dry off any excess moisture from your session as it naturally cools down after. However, here are some tips to make sure your sauna is in tip top shape:

• Sit on a towel to keep sweat off the wood

• Wipe up obvious moisture after use (puddles, drips near the door)

• Make sure there’s good air circulation around the sauna and that vents are not blocked

• If you notice a musty smell, do a deep clean with a mild vinegar + water solution, then run the sauna hot and dry for a full cycle.
  
  

• Check stones every few months; re-stack or replace cracked stones as needed

• Make sure nothing is touching or covering the heater

• Have a licensed electrician inspect if you notice tripped breakers, odd smells, or uneven heating.

Your sauna is built for year-round use, but a few habits help:

• Check roof and bands periodically to ensure everything is snug

• Brush off heavy snow from the roof to avoid excess weight

• Keep the door area clear so it can open/close fully

• In very cold climates, expect a longer warm-up time and consider pre-heating a bit earlier before your session.
